I walk by the precious photos taken of our family every day.
Each time I pass them it gives me a special memory, something to hold on to.
As fall approaches, I began thinking of the "Christmas card" photos I would be taking. Believe me, I love some Christmas cards.
The photos we take are more than something to make a Christmas card more memorable. They are vehicles to a specific moment in time.
When your baby had those cute little wrinkles on her legs, wrinkles that she has grown out of. Or the glint of mischief in your little boy's eye as he chases his sibling. The way your family hugged at that very moment.
The way your husband wrapped his arm around your waist. The way he put your sweet baby on his shoulders.
It's not just the mantle shot. Which if you have had portraits taken with me, you know that we take and realize are important.
But even more than that, the way you move and grow as a family is even more important.
The tickling, sneak attacks, secret whispers, bring back memories. Real ones.
I feel deeply about every session I am a part of because I know that what I am capturing will outlive the camera in my hand.
It will live on the walls and coffee tables of homes. In the hearts of children and grandchildren. Will be a part of a story told at the kitchen table.
That specific moment will mean something.
So Daddies and Mamas out there, get in front of the camera, your family will never be this size again.
You have a story to tell your grandchildren! Don't just tell them, show them!
Love and Laughter,
