Well, it has taken me so long to find the words to pen this post.
It still seems unreal. Like a dream.
November 19th everything changed.
Through all the hurt and through all the joy, God has still been on the throne and He has still been the best Provider to our boys.
He saw them during incredible pain and brought Jesus-loving caseworkers to step in. He loved them during the trauma of losing the only family they had known.
He perfectly orchestrated them to be placed in foster homes with Jesus-loving people who pointed them to their amazing Heavenly Father.
He put Timmy and I into an adoption class with this precious family and little did we know that 2 years to the day we sat across the table from each other, we would be signing our names as Mama and Daddy forever to these precious boys in that very same building.
He crafted our adoption day as South Carolina’s State Adoption Day. (No random Monday would do.)
I should never doubt God’s faithfulness to us as a family. I pray I continue to sing that anthem over our boys as we raise them.
He is such a Good, Good Father. Our boys have a story to tell. One that I am sure Jesus is going to use for His glory as they grow in stature and in truth.
Every single person that our merciful God put in the path of our boys, loved them, prayed for them, and prayed for us. They worked tirelessly to bring justice and wholeness to two boys that were once fatherless. They stood in the gap for them, answered texts and phone calls, checked in on us, not because it was their job, but because they loved Zane and Milo. They loved us. Most of all, they loved Jesus Christ. What more could a mama ask for?
To Shauntelle, Joan, April, Dawn, Kathryn, the Huffmans, and the Ferrells, words just don’t do it justice. You made us a family. Because of your dedication, you have restored hope in what foster care is supposed to be like. What adoption is supposed to be like. You didn’t have to pull the extra hours or the extra miles to see us face to face, but you did and we are forever grateful. We love you BIG!
So without further ado, here is, in the words of Zane, “the best day ever”!
All the photo credit goes to my incredibly sweet and talented friend Jana from Magnolia Photography! Thank you for being there for us sweet friend! You gave us tangible memories from the most emotional and incredible day of our lives!
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23
