There is nothing that I do not love about Gabbie and Zack. Their playful demeanor, the way Zack looks at Gabbie, the way she trusts Zack. And their wedding at Gassaway Mansion was a perfect reflection of just that.
These two have been through it this year. Gabbie's sweet daddy was diagnosed with cancer, she cared for him and supported him through the toughest months of his life. Gabbie and Zack made a difficult and brave decision to get married in the home of her father before their wedding day. I cannot imagine the amount of emotion that was in his house that day.
Gabbie's daddy went to be with Jesus not too long ago. He didn't make it to the wedding. Physically. But as I heard them say over and over, "Daddy's got the best seat in the house today."
I know he was so proud on October 8th. Yet, he got to witness that precious union before his soul left this world.
Even with the heaviness of losing her daddy just a few weeks before the wedding, Gabbie had a beautiful and peaceful glow about her. Zack did too. Their joy was evident and their love for each other has already been put through the fire, however, they came out on the other side more unified and in love than before.
Gabbie had her brother walk her down the aisle. I watched as he waited on her to come down their grand staircase, as I am sure her daddy would have done. His strong arm held hers as they waited to enter the ceremony. The weight of that moment was not lost on me. They knew that the special moment they were in was missing someone. (Getting teary-eyed behind the lens is not a good combination! :)
Her brother took on that role with great pride and care. Zack watched them walk down the aisle with a sweet smile on his face. It was a wedding day to remember.
I am so thankful that both Gabbie and Zack had hope of seeing her daddy again in Heaven. If they hadn't, this day would have been such a different story. The amount of joy and happiness that filled the large halls of Gassaway Mansion was contagious! It was an incredible honor to document this special season in this couple's life.
I hope you enjoy getting to relive this precious wedding day with me!
