Maybe it is his profession, or maybe it is the way that he is wired.
My husband looks you in the eyes when you are talking. Now, we slack off on this at home but, for the most part, this is his thing.
We have lost the connection that we used to have in our society. Now, our eyes are stuck on our phones.
I hate that! Yet, in full disclosure, I am so guilty of this!
For the 7 years that we have been together and becoming an expert on my husband (wink, wink) I have watched him look people in the eye and be able to read their emotions and feelings.
I call him Kojak at home. For those of you who don't know about that vintage show, google it! It is great!
He has a knack for reading people. Especially me. Ugh! :)
I have decided that this is an area that I am going to work on this year. Looking people in their eyes, so that I can read what they are really feeling.
You know, I bet Jesus looked every dirty, sickly, unlovable person in their eyes, even though He knew their heart before they spoke. I need to follow after that leadership.
So, if you would like to join me...this week, lets look our people in the eye. I bet we will be able to not only remember what they say, but also know the spirit in which they spoke.
