It is engagement season!!!!
Seeing all the young smiling faces of newly engaged couples does my heart good. :)
I know you are walking around staring at your new accessory and realizing how tired your arm gets from carrying it around all day! ;)
When I got engaged, as much as I liked staring at my ring, I liked showing it off even more! And I wanted to take pictures of it!
Rings are tricky little things to photograph. I want to give you my top 3 tips on photographing that gorgeous rock on your finger!
- Get at eye level with your ring. Whether it is sitting it on the bed and you on the floor...it will make a difference. It gives your ring a larger than life look that will make everyone super jealous.
- Focus on the prong. Princess, square, or heart cut, all rings have prongs focus on the one closest to you and your diamond will sparkle. Cameras have a difficult time focusing on the smooth cut of the diamond itself.
- Give it a clean background. You don't want distracting objects or shadows in the background. Your ring should be the center of attention. White bed sheets or even a piece of paper will give your ring the stage it deserves!
